Ways To Prepare For Summer Boating Activities

Boating in the summer is a favorite pastime for many people. This is especially true for those who live near water and own a boat to use during the season. Unfortunately, you cannot just take your boat from storage out into the water before doing a few things first. • Get a tune up. You have not been using your boat for many months now so to make sure it is ready to go, take some time to get a tune up done. This is the best way to repair any issues and make sure your boat is good to go for the summer.
• De-winterize your boat. If you took the time to winterize your boat before the cold months, then you need to make sure you de-winterize it before using it this summer.
• Check your safety gear. On your boat you should have safety items including a first aid kit, life jackets, and fire extinguishers. Make sure that your first aid kit is stocked, you have plenty of life jackets for all passengers and that they are in good shape, and check your fire extinguisher(s). Hopefully you do not need them while you are out on your boat but you want to have them ready to go just in case!
